Toolbox Talks

1 - Basic Electrical

Electrical safety prevents shocks, burns, and fatalities—essential knowledge for construction workers regularly exposed to live wires and equipment.

2 - Ladder Safety

Falls from ladders are common on-site. Learn proper setup, secure footing, and climbing techniques to prevent serious injuries and stay safe.

3 - Confined Space

Confined spaces can fill with toxic gases or become oxygen-deficient. Always follow entry procedures, use monitoring equipment, and never go in alone.

4 - Forklift Safety

Forklifts can cause severe injuries if misused. Operators and pedestrians must stay alert, follow rules, and communicate clearly to avoid collisions or tip-overs.

5 - Hand Tools

Hand tools seem simple, but misuse causes injuries. Inspect tools, use the right one for the job, and store them safely when finished.

6 - Manual Handling

Lifting improperly leads to back injuries and strains. Learn proper lifting posture, ask for help, and use mechanical aids whenever possible.

7 - Lockout Tagout

Unexpected equipment start-up can kill. Always lockout and tagout machines during maintenance or repair to prevent accidental energization and injury.

8 - Alcohol Use

Alcohol use impairs focus and coordination. Working under the influence creates dangerous situations for you and everyone around you on a job site.

9 - Backing Up Hazards

Backing heavy equipment without visibility is risky. Use spotters, check mirrors, and stay aware to avoid hitting people, objects, or structures.

10 - Slips Trips & Falls

Slips and trips are a top cause of workplace injuries. Maintain clear walkways, wear proper footwear, and clean up spills immediately.

11 - Safety Glasses

Flying debris and dust can cause permanent eye damage. Always wear approved safety glasses where required, even for short or simple tasks.

12 - Emergency Exits

During emergencies, seconds count. Know your nearest exit routes, keep them clear, and participate in drills so you’re ready to act quickly.

13 - Drug Abuse

Drugs affect judgment, focus, and reaction time. Impairment on-site endangers lives and leads to costly, sometimes fatal, mistakes that could be avoided.

14 - Cell Phone Use

Phones are a major distraction on the job. Limit use to safe areas to stay alert and prevent unnecessary injuries or property damage.

15 - Concrete Work

Concrete can cause chemical burns, respiratory issues, and crush injuries. Use proper PPE and stay aware when working with wet or cured concrete.
