31 - Strokes

Recognizing stroke symptoms saves lives. Use FAST: Face droop, Arm weakness, Speech slurred, Time to call 911—act immediately if you suspect a stroke.

32 - Hydration on the job

Dehydration causes fatigue, dizziness, and confusion. Drink water regularly, especially in hot conditions, to stay alert and avoid heat-related illness.

33 - Excavation Safety

Trench collapses kill quickly. Use protective systems, conduct daily inspections, and never enter unshored or unstable excavations—even for a quick task.

34 - Battery Handling

Batteries contain corrosive chemicals and can explode if mishandled. Wear PPE, follow manufacturer guidelines, and dispose of batteries properly and responsibly.

35 - Fall Protection

Falls are the leading cause of death in construction. Use harnesses, guardrails, and inspect equipment before every use to prevent deadly falls.

36 - Dust Hazards

Dust can lead to chronic lung diseases like silicosis. Use masks, wet cutting methods, and ventilation to limit exposure and protect your lungs.

37 - Smoking

Smoking increases fire risks and affects health. Know designated smoking areas and follow site policies to keep yourself and others safe.

38 - Respirators

Respirators protect against harmful particles and fumes. Ensure proper fit, wear consistently, and clean or replace filters as recommended.

39 - Chainsaws

Chainsaws cause severe injuries if misused. Wear full PPE, inspect equipment before use, and follow proper operating procedures every time.

40 - Horseplay

Pranks and roughhousing on the jobsite can lead to real injuries. Stay professional and focused to maintain a safe working environment.

41 - Noise Hazards

Prolonged exposure to loud noise causes hearing loss. Use earplugs or earmuffs and reduce noise levels where possible on the jobsite.

42 - Complacency

Complacency leads to shortcuts and missed hazards. Stay alert, review procedures, and treat every task like it’s your first time doing it.

43 - Fitness

Being physically fit improves endurance, reduces injury risk, and supports a safer, more productive workday—maintain strength, flexibility, and balance.

44 - Winter Weather

Cold weather brings frostbite, slips, and poor visibility. Dress appropriately, work in pairs, and keep walkways and work areas clear of ice.

45 - First Aid

Immediate first aid can save lives. Learn basic skills, know where kits are located, and don’t hesitate to step in during emergencies.
